My home is moderately traditional; I needed something perky to add sparkle to the master bedroom -- a room of back furniture and white walls and linens.
My choice was white-polka dot on scarlet. It's a little funky but adds a refreshing spin to the decor.

Day 3: Southwest Penache Pillow
THE RIGHT STUFF: The Pillow Project
Pillows can be inexpensive face-lifts that can change or enhance the complexion of a room. The hand-made variety can capitalize on long-forgotten vintage linens or keep a room fresh with modern-print fabrics.
The bigger advantage of loving to sew is that the price of adding a few pillows to your summer decor is minimal. Given that most sewing addicts have stashes of extra fabric and scraps, it becomes super easy to freshen up any room with a few new pillows.
